Microsoft's Windows 8 Consumer Preview (or what I may also call as the "beta" version) has been my constant companion ever since it was released a few weeks ago. And for me anyway, I'd say it's revolutionary. Windows' past iterations had been a desktop with a background, a taskbar with running apps, time/date, icons of applications on that big real estate called the "desktop." Now, Microsoft did something new.
For all the bells and whistles, however, let me give you one cool feature that this new OS changed for the better: a beautiful graphical interface for copying/moving files. On the "old" Windows 7, when you move/copy a file, you get a boring window with running numbers and percentages and what not. In Windows 8, you get not only the numbers and percentages but also a running real-time speed chart complete with lines and curves. If you ask me, it is a sight for sore eyes...
